On March 28, 2019, AstroReality had the opportunity to visit SETI labs in the Bay Area, where we got to see our first to-scale solar system set in person. All the models are full-color 3D printed with the highest resolution, for you to hold the planet in your hands, or perhaps, “hug” the planets this time.

It was great to tour the offices and meet with the people who are analyzing the data and finding and creating new ways to gather information about life among the stars. We are also proud to announce our partnership with SETI as well as discuss how we can start developing AR tools for researchers in the field.

Speaking of SETI Institute, it was interesting asking about their thoughts on what and where life actually exists, and talking about and understanding what we currently think is the origin of life. There were some funny moments of asking how many times we have sent out messages to outer space. A member of SETI quickly insisted that we had only ever done that twice, and would not be sending out a signal again, as doing so could actually be calling out to an alien race that we might not want to make contact with. However, for the most part, it looks like we might be alone in our galaxy currently and will continue the search to expand our understanding of how and what made life come to be.
